Excellent weather and light this morning. Made it to the river around 830 AM. The Mule Deer were out in force this morning. Started the walk with a couple of tourist style shots of the deer and then completed our circuit with no interruptions for photography. Once again I drove over to the Osprey Picnic Area to check out the heron nest. It was occupied but offered no real opportunity for a decent picture. Sightings: Birds: Starlings, Osprey, Kestrel, Canada Geese, Heron, Wood Ducks, Hawk, various small unidentifiable birds (I call them flitty birds). Critters: Mule Deer Here are two photos…

Finally got out for a morning walk. Arriving at around 9:30 AM we got right on the trail. Not many people fishing today either in the fishing pond or the Arkansas river. No birds fishing either. We made it to our usual walking venue parking at the Anticline Fishing Pond around 5:30 PM giving me about an hour and a half of shooting light. Our walk was basically just that, a walk, since no birds or critters offered themselves as photographic fodder. There were some sightings. Sightings:Birds: Osprey, Cormorant, Robin, Kestrel, Starling, ducks, Canada GeeseCritters: None Since I captured no images tonight the featured image at the top of this post was shot in March 2019 and below is an image I shot on…

March 28, 2020 – Morning

No morning outing today. Kind of cold and pretty windy. I made it out to Lake Pueblo State Park (LPSP) to walk my usual circuit around 5:45PM. There was little wind and mostly sunshine. I saw many types of birds as I will note below. None of my feathered sightings were at all cooperative in terms of allowing themselves to be photographed. The featured image on this post is an image I shot on my walk at Lake Pueblo State Park on this day in 2018. Sightings:Birds: Robin, Starling, Ducks, Canada Geese, Flicker, Red Tailed Hawk, Osprey, American Kestrel Critters: None…
