Despite excellent conditions non of my bird buddies had the time to pause (or fly close enough) to be photographed. In fact, I only took one picture today (right) which occurred by accident as I fell down on the unpaved trail. I broke my fall with my left knee, left elbow and camera. Everything seems to have survived the event but it kind of killed my creativity for the day. Today’s featured image is a Snowy Egret that I shot Sunday (8/10/22) at Belmar Park in Lakewood, Colorado….

Not a lot going on this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park though the Arkansas River’s falling water level is attracting more fishermen. There was a lot of bird activity but very few volunteers for Internet fame. I accidentally flushed out a pair of twin fawns and got a decent shot of one of them. Today’s featured image is also another critter – a Monarch Butterfly sampling one of the Wild Sunflowers that dot the park.
