Pictured here is an Osprey banking off the Arkansas River with an impressive catch in hand. Really, Osprey and Great Blue Herons were about all there was to shoot today. Environment:Start Time: 6:35 AM Temperature: 70 degrees Sky: Sunshine and clouds. The Arkansas River has really perked up lately. It is running lower and smoother than it has all Summer. I saw quite a few ducks (Mallards), Cormorants and Geese as well as Killdeer and Spotted Sandpipers. And five Great Blue Herons all working the same stretch of water. Very exciting. These guys have been very active this month and have finally selected three different trees as their spots to dry out and gossip.
