Environment:Start Time: 6:20 AM Temperature: 70 degrees Sky: Mostly Sunshine with light haze. Today’s tour of Rock Canyon was mostly unproductive in terms of captured images. There was plenty going on but nobody wanted to be on the Internet. The Osprey nest at the river bend was empty. All the trainees were either perching nearby or up in the sky perfecting their flight technique. One of the student flyers is today’s featured image. Environment:Start Time: 6:15 AM Temperature: 61 degrees Sky: Sun muted by VERY thick haze. Wildfire haze continues to obscure what should be brilliant sunlight. Today was far worse than yesterday. There was only about a ten minute period where distinct shadows could be discerned. Despite the darkness I did manage to capture a couple of decent shots of an Osprey posing with and then consuming its catch. These shots are top and bottom of this post. Environment:Start Time: 6:40 AM Temperature: 61 degrees Sky: Sun and increasing clouds. Rock Canyon was bathed in fantastic Golden Hour light when I arrived (a little late) at my normal parking spot. Today’s featured image of the trees bordering the Anticline Fishing Pond is offered as proof. Sadly this glow did not last long. The clouds coming in from the North and East soon blocked the Sun and made further photography difficult.
