You can probably tell that I did not find a whole lot of birds to photograph this morning when a couple of Mallard Ducks get the featured image spot at the top of the post. I’m not saying that there weren’t any birds it’s just that those present were either too far away or were flying away from me. Pictured here is a Downy Woodpecker Female who was working way up on a tree. The “prize” of the day is the terrible picture (below) of a juvenile American Bald Eagle. I had to shoot into the Sun at this bird who was perched at least 300 yards away. I’m only posting the shot because of what it is. It could be that the Eagle’s presence is why the Red-tailed Hawks have been so scarce.
