Autumn is leaning toward Winter with today’s freezing temperature and frosty ground. The Cottonwood color is still pretty good, though and there are still some trees who have barely started to change. The cold still hasn’t driven out the last Osprey – I saw it perched up high in the sunlight on my way out of the park. Featured is what I believe to be one of this year’s Mule Deer Fawns who was curled up in a sunny spot while a couple of older deer grazed nearby. I only spotted one Belted Kingfisher – a little lady who wasn’t finding anything enticing in the Arkansas River.
