Weather and trail conditions continue to keep me at home and things are not looking better for the coming weekend. So let’s reminisce about the good old days of 2022.
Environment:
Start Time: 2:20 PM Temperature: 58 degrees Sky: Sunshine some clouds – little breeze
Much sunnier today at Lake Pueblo State Park. There was some bird activity on today’s outing but I was struck at the near absence of the smaller birds. I saw no Sparrows, Juncos or Woodpeckers – though a couple of Black-capped Chickadees did blast by me early on. I did catch a Great Blue Heron (probably the same one as last week) perched on high and got a good shot of it taking off. The only ducks I saw were the Common Goldeneye – and then it was only hens. There were a number of Mule Deer grazing on the edge of the park and I got a family moment – posted below. Today’s featured image (above) is a Winter prairie scene near the eastern edge of LPSP.

Sightings:
Birds: Common Goldeneye, Gulls, American Coot, belted kingfisher, Townsend’s Solitaire, Great Blue Heron, Canada Geese, Red-tailed Hawk, Black-capped Chickadee
Critters: Mule Deer
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
