Super nice day out on the trail if you could ignore the mud. The Arkansas River is starting to get busy with a pretty nice variety of ducks splashing about like the Red-breasted Merganser pictured here. I did see several Great Blue Herons but only in the distance and none in the water. I spotted another Cooper’s Hawk but, unfortunately, it also spotted me. The big prize of the day is my featured image – a passing Northern Harrier. It popped up out of nowhere and flew by quickly. Even so, I managed to capture a few frames.
