Yet another great day for walking around Lake Pueblo State Park is in the books. A very productive day at that. Featured is the visiting American White Pelican who is still leisurely boating around the fishing pond. He (pretty sure it is a male) allowed me to get pretty close this morning. Pictured here is a male American Kestrel perching on the threshold of what was an active nest two years ago. Hopefully he decides to use this nest again. I also saw a number of Eastern Bluebirds and even a few Mountain Bluebirds – though briefly. I saw, and captured, images of both a male and a female Belted Kingfishers. The male is favoring the fishing pond while the female prefers the Arkansas River.
