Warm again this morning. A bit of a breeze was fluttering those leaves with the fortitude to still be on their tree. Yesterday I had many opportunities to chase the smaller birds around but today things were much quieter. The smallest bird I managed to shoot was a Hairy Woodpecker, though I have to admit I passed on a couple of White-Crowned Sparrows who were doing their best to be photographed. My luck was better with bigger birds today. I spotted a Red-Tailed Hawk early on the walk and I was really proud of myself for seeing him nestled deep in the branches of a tree. I also got a shot of another Greater Yellowlegs bouncing along the shore of the Arkansas River. I like this shot because I caught the bird in motion instead of simply standing around. Near the end of my walk a Mule Deer Doe crossed the trail in front of me and got a long refreshing drink from the river – today’s featured image.
