November is starting to return with cooler morning temperatures. I’m sure it won’t be long until I am walking regularly in the afternoons. Today produced an even mix of big and small birds with neither size making a real effort to be captured by my camera. I saw a (probably the same one as yesterday) Red-Tailed Hawk perched high in a tree way across the river. I did the best I could with what was offered. For excitement I saw that the Bufflehead Ducks are starting to trickle in to their Winter home here at Lake Pueblo State Park. They were flying up and down the river and have not settled in enough allow for photographs – but I have all Winter. And the Western Grebe who has been haunting the fishing pond is still among us – s/he allowed me to get as close as I ever have and I got a really nice shot.
