Yet another perfect day for a walk by the river. There was a wide variety of birds this morning most of whom had better things to do than pose for my camera. I chased a marauding band of Bushtits who were pillaging the rabbitbrush along the bank of the Arkansas River. Those suckers are quick. One of the fuzzy frames I captured is posted below along with a pretty nice shot of three Canada Geese coming in for a landing at the fishing pond. The lack of wind this morning made for a very calm pond surface resulting in some terrific reflections on the water. I was surprised by the appearance of an American Kestrel who naturally assumed a perch high in a bare tree. Today’s featured image is of a Song Sparrow who slipped up and sat still long enough for me to grab a shot. I’m sure he will be fined by the Bird Union.
