Environment:
Start Time: 12:25 PM Temperature: 49 degrees Sky: Sunny, no clouds, no breeze
Today’s featured birds are Red-Tailed Hawks. I saw very few other birds on my normal tour. I did have a chance at a Great Blue Heron who was perched in a tree but when I veered off the trail to get a better angle s/he took off with a loud squawk that I can’t help but feel was directed right at me. After that encounter the only other photographic opportunities I saw were the Red-Tails. Okay, okay there were some Mallard Ducks in the river and the Western Grebe was asleep in the middle of the fishing pond – but these subjects were pretty boring. Unfortunately, those “exciting” Red-Tails were keeping their distance so all of today’s images are heavily cropped.
