Today’s outing started off on a super HIGH note! Out of force of habit I checked out the Osprey nest near the swim area as I drove into Lake Pueblo State Park. These days I don’t know what I’m looking for since all the Osprey have headed South. But the nest was not empty! There were three large birds sitting in and around the nest. I parked as close as I could to the nest and got over there as fast as possible. When I arrived on scene (taking care to be as inobtrusive as possible) there was only one bird in the nest – a huge American Bald Eagle. It should come as no surprise that today’s featured image and the one posted below are examples of what I captured. I really hope that this Eagle found the accommodations acceptable and will take up residence in the near future. Also featured in this post is an image of what I believe to be a Raven who was also keeping an eye on the Eagle activity at the nest.
