Environment:
Start Time: 1:15 PM Temperature: 55 degrees Sky: Sunny, few clouds, mild breeze

Ideal conditions prevailed today at Lake Pueblo State Park. Wind was not an issue while the light was fantastic. Not many birds chose to pose in the good light for me, though. There were fewer fishermen in the river but far more people out walking their dogs and riding their bikes – two guys were even out there on horseback. I took a shot of a large group of Ducks in the Arkansas river – mostly Goldeneye and I think possibly some Bufflehead which is today’s featured image. I did accomplish one of the goals I set at the start of the walk and got a shot of a Pied-billed Grebe – posted below. My other two goals (getting an Eagle and a Bluebird) went unfulfilled.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Gulls, Gadwalls, Common Goldeneyes, Ducks, Bushtits, White-crowned Sparrow, Sparrows, Belted Kingfisher, Dark-eyed Juncos, Pied-billed Grebe
Critters: None

Gear: Lumix GH4 , 100-300 mm
