After one day of snow and a second one of very cold temps I finally got the courage to head back out to Lake Pueblo State Park. I was really surprised by the amount of snow I found when I arrived. There was practically none! The “deepest” snow was limited to the paved walkways. The unpaved trails were not muddy at all as I had expected them to be. What was worse – before I headed out I had decided to bring my wide angle zoom to shoot snowy scenic shots. Switching to birds was pretty much out of the question since I was woefully unequipped for that. And there were a good number of birds flitting about. I caught sight of a Flicker. I also saw a woodpecker high up in a tree – whether he was a Hairy or a Downy I could not tell. Two Red-tailed Hawks were also perched on high laughing at me, I’m sure. So I had to reach back into my trusty archive to find a Winter scenic similar to what I came out today to shoot. Today’s featured image is of the Anticline Fishing Pond from December, 2019.
