What was supposed to be cold snowy day turned out to be a spectacular day for a walk and some casual birding. Though the birds were not totally on board with this feeling I did manage to get a few shots in. I had a real good shot at a distant Cooper’s Hawk but came up with a fuzzy mess. I’m still trying to figure out getting good focus on distant subjects – gonna keep trying. The other disappointment of the day came at the wings of a Belted Kingfisher who seemed to enjoy tormenting me by landing fairly close but flying off as soon as I got zeroed in on him. Gonna keep trying to get him, too. So for today’s featured image I have a Winter landscape (prairiescape?) posted above. Below is a shot of today’s most cooperative bird – a Northern Flicker.
