Weather predictions of a warm day ahead got me motivated and out the door earlier than usual. Of course, as things start to really heat up I’ll be hitting the trail even earlier than today. I was certainly not the first visitor of the day but attendance was still light. My walk was pretty unremarkable in terms of photography though I managed to capture a “new” bird – a Rufous-sided Towhee – today’s featured image. I almost didn’t even bother shooting him because he was bouncing around with a bunch of Robins and sort of blended in. But his white spots finally drew my attention and when I saw him stand next to a Robin I saw that he was a bit smaller. So I blasted away. I got my identification from my Audubon Society book so I am pretty confident about the ID.
