Yellow-rumped Warbler at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Almost did not go out this morning. The clouds were thick and getting steadily thicker. Like yesterday only worse. But I am really glad that I did not succumb to the depression emanating from the sky. Yesterday one of my spotters clued me in to the location of a Great Horned Owl’s nest and today I managed to locate it. Today’s featured image is of an owlet peering out at the world, wondering what that thing I was pointing at him was. I’ll be keeping tabs on this spot for sure. Though I did cut the normal walk short I managed to make quite a few record-able sightings. Posted here is the back-end of a Yellow-rumped Warbler heading to the next branch on his route. Below is a mini gallery of Woodpeckers and a Cormorant. I don’t think I have ever notices the white tuft displayed by today’s Cormorant so I am not sure if this is a Double Crested or some other Cormorant variant.

Sightings:
Birds: Canada Geese, Mallards, Osprey, Starlings, Robins, Cormorants, Redhead Ducks, Blue Jay, American Kestrel, American Coot, White-crowned Sparrows, Mourning Doves, Wood Ducks, Blue-winged Teal, Swallows, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Great Blue Heron, Great Horned Owl, Turkey Vultures, Red-winged Blackbird
Critters: Prairie Dogs

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
