You couldn’t order a nicer day than was available this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I managed to come home with some interesting (though not prize winning) bird photos after a little effort. As you can tell from the image gallery below the birdies were not making it easy for me – they were either perched well off the trail or well into the tree-cover or both. The Redheaded Woodpecker posted here was also very far away and I only tried the shot because he was in good light. Several Osprey were flying about but apparently they were not hungry – no fishing action today. Today’s featured image is a Mallard Duck couple enjoying the Arkansas River. Don’t know if they have young ones or not – if so, they must have hired a duckling sitter.
