Check out last year’s walk on this day!
Once again, very pleasant conditions for walking and a good variety of camera shy birds to chase. Things started out well with the sighting of a Red-tailed Hawk who was perched up high talking with another smaller bird that I can’t quite identify. A couple of insects (Goldenrod Soldier Beetles) caught my eye – featured image (above) – who also appear to be “talking” on one of the many Wild Sunflowers lining the trails. I have added a new bird to my personal list. Pictured below is a Lesser Goldfinch whom I caught also checking out the sunflowers. The big surprise for today is the image included at the bottom of this post – a Cottonwood tree on the river bank with its leaves already turning to their Autumn color. I guess Fall is coming but gee whiz!
