Check out last year’s walk on this day!

Rose Hips at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Another day another good walk at Lake Pueblo State Park. Starlings, Red-winged Blackbirds and Blue Jays were all very active early this morning. The Jays were also very vocal to the point that I remarked that I was glad they weren’t hanging around my bedroom window. Today’s featured image (above) is of a female Red-winged Blackbird perching on a sunflower hub. She was one of many working the fading blossoms. Below is a picture of (what Google identifies as) a Woodlouse walking across the paved trail. I was really amazed at the shadow this little guy was casting in the early morning sunshine and felt that it needed to be documented for future generations. I also saw a lot of Rose Hip berries adding a Christmas ambiance to this September morning. At the bottom of this post are three of the other bird shots I got today. Two of the same Cormorant and one of a Grackle.
