Great Blue Heron at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Climate is staying very consistent. Another near perfect day for a walk in the woods. The Red-winged Blackbirds were today’s activity stars. Once again they were paying much attention to the sagging Wild Sunflower ex-blossoms. Today’s featured image (above) is just one example of the action. Plenty of Osprey about but apparently not in the mood to try a little fishing. I’m starting to see Wood Ducks along the Arkansas River again with one of them pictured below in flight. The other bird capture is posted here – a distant shot of a Great Blue Heron. I heard but did not see both Blue Jays and Belted Kingfishers.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Wood Ducks, Osprey, Double Crested Cormorants, Canada Geese, Starlings, Killdeer, Common Grackle, Red-winged Blackbirds, Great Blue Heron, Yellow Warbler
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Mule Deer

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
