Check out last year’s walk on this day!
I decided to change things up a little this morning and brought my Infrared camera out to Lake Pueblo State Park. Since the birds and other critters have been less than cooperative lately I thought I’d go for some scenic shots. The real beauty of shooting IR this time of year is that you can get some great Autumn-like colors without having to wait for the later part of Autumn. I was a little worried that, once the birds saw I was not equipped to capture their images, they would swarm all over me with a Kestrel on my right shoulder, a Great Horned Owl on my left and two Osprey dancing a jig on my hat. Fortunately, this did not occur. Even with the wrong equipment, I still managed to come home with some wildlife images. Today’s featured image is a shot of one of my favorite trees (yes, I have favorite trees) with a great sky as accent.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Blue-winged Teal, Starlings, Northern Flicker, Gulls, Great Blue Heron, Killdeer, American Kestrel, Belted Kingfisher
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Grasshoppers, Mule Deer, Tree Squirrel
Gear: KolariVision Lumix LS100
