Yellow-breasted Chat at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

More bright sunshine this morning made for very pleasant walking conditions. Though everyone was keeping their distance, today’s stars were mostly the smaller perching birds (mini-gallery below) along with one Whiptail Lizard – featured image above. Pictured here is the most vocal of today’s subjects – a Yellow-breasted Chat. There are a lot of Chats this year – I saw (and heard) at least four.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, American Yellow Warbler, Canada Geese, Osprey, American Robins, European Starlings, Double-crested Cormorant, Western Kingbirds, Eastern Kingbirds, Mourning Doves, Bullock’s Orioles, Swallows, Barn Swallows, House Wren, Yellow-breasted Chat, Common Grackle, Western Wood Pewee
Critters: Mule Deer, Red Ants, Whiptail Lizard

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
