Double Crested Cormorant at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

I managed to complete my whole route this morning without any Osprey drama. The few Osprey that I saw were all happy and healthy. The leaves are starting to change into their Autumn colors as demonstrated in today’s featured image. The Rabbitbrush is mostly in full bloom and attracting lots of butterflies – at least, so I have heard. I’ve still only seen one Pied-billed Grebe – he must be the location scout for the rest of the gang. I also caught a glimpse of that Ornate Tree Lizard who hangs out in the cracks of the big tree stump by the river bend. I think he is amazed to see what October looks like.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Blue-winged teal, Osprey, European Starlings, Double Crested Cormorants, Killdeer, Northern Flicker, Canada Geese, Sparrows, Pied-billed Grebe, Gulls, American Robins, Mourning Doves, Common Grackle
Critters: Mule Deer, Cabbage White Butterfly, Monarch Butterfly

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
