Environment:
Start Time: 8:25 AM Temperature: 28 degrees Sky: Sunshine, a few clouds and a light breeze.
Despite the rather cool morning I headed out early to take advantage of some great light. My Cooper’s Hawks were busy working on their nest making run after run to collect twigs that they broke off of tree branches. No ground twigs for them! Today’s featured image is one of them posing with some material and down below is a shot of the same bird (I think) headed back to the nest. I also captured a Red-tailed Hawk working on its nest as well. Pictured here is a Great Blue Heron who was having trouble finding the perfect place to perch. I did see an American Bald Eagle but the only (long) shot I got was pretty crumby. To wrap up this post is a Blue Jay who was also bouncing around through the branches – s/he slipped up and stood still long enough for me to get a shot.
