Going to be a hot one today. That’s what the local weather prognosticators say and I have to agree since the temperature when I drove out of Lake Pueblo State Park was twenty degrees higher than it was when I drove in two hours earlier. I guess I can thank the warm temps for today’s featured image – an Ornate Tree lizard who was sticking its head out of its favorite stump for a weather check. The bottom of this post has a cool picture of both Red-tailed Hawk expecting parents in their nest possibly looking at color swatches for the nursery. One of the hawks got a good thumping from an American Kestrel who must have a nest nearby. And the Cooper’s Hawk pictured here was hard at work hunting a more bushy area so it could build up strength for its new arrivals.
