Twenty hours of steady rain was probably good for Lake Pueblo State Park but the unpaved trails are a bit muddy. The Arkansas River is running higher with coverage in some areas bank to bank. Action was a bit low as everyone was probably drying out. Pictured here is one of the Cooper’s Hawk adults standing watch on the nest. Once the trees leaf out it is going to be tough to keep track of the progress here. Today’s featured image is a favorite scene of mine which I haven’t shot in quite a while. But the dark cloud background with the budding Cottonwoods lit by the rising Sun and reflecting in the pond was impossible for me to resist. I managed to capture another pretty good Blue Jay portrait to close out today’s post.
