The Summer birds are starting to filter in. Today’s arrival is the featured Eastern Kingbird whom I caught on the fence. I’ve posted a Western Kingbird at the bottom to complete the set. The Cooper’s Hawk parents showed up today and one of them took pity on me and posed for a bit. The nest is still quiet and much harder to see. The Red-tailed Hawk nest was unattended. No baby geese were anywhere to be seen, either – really there wasn’t much at all going on on the Arkansas River. Still a very good morning for a walk in the woods.
