After a night of heavy rain, lightning, wind and hail I did not do my normal morning walk. With the night’s weather in mind I made a quick run out to Lake Pueblo State Park this afternoon to check up on my little Red-tailed Hawk nestling buddy. Happily I found it bouncing around the nest, actively trying out it’s wings. Of course, s/he made the featured image. On my way to the park I stopped by Pueblo’s City Park to check out a rumor that I had heard a little earlier in the week. The rumor is confirmed – this year’s Cormorants have set up their Rookery in this location – right on the lake. It is pretty cool and I have posted a shot of the little city below.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Canada Geese, Double Crested Cormorants, Mourning Doves, Red-tailed Hawk
Critters: None
