Environment:
Start Time: 6:50 AM Temperature: 55 degrees Sky: Sun in a cloudless sky.
After a couple of mornings of shaky weather I made it back out to the park. This being the start of a major holiday weekend (and the beginning of the last half of the year) I was surprised at how empty it was in the Rock Canyon area. This was true not only for human but also avian. One of my spotters told me that he had seen two fawns on his walk – I did not. Needless to say, I did not capture much of anything. For a featured image I offer a shot of two Canada Geese paddling on what is normally the bank of the Arkansas River and demonstrating the still high water level on the Arkansas River. There are quite a lot of flowers blooming – pictured here is a shot of a Walking Stick Cactus showing its colors.
