Fantastic weather makes it hard to stay away from Lake Pueblo State Park in the early morning. I guess some birds disagree. A few ducks are venturing back to the Arkansas River, though sticking to the calmer areas close to shore. The featured image today is a Mallard mom cruising those afore mentioned calm waters with her youngsters. Center post is featuring a pair of not great long-shots of some of the less numerous birds at the park. A Western Wood Peewee was really working the Osprey Picnic Area. I took a side trip to try to capture some Northern Mockingbirds but instead came back with the Lark Sparrow, below. And, of course, there were Wrens – bottom. No fawns spotted this trip.
