It’s mostly Redheaded Woodpeckers today. I spent some time at the nest hoping to see if the little occupant had decided to come out. Turns out he has and he blasted out of the nest with such speed that I barely got the fuzzy image below. The featured image looks a lot like yesterday’s but this is really founded in a bit more drama. A Starling was perching atop the nest and this adult woodpecker darted in to chase off the trespasser. I, of course, missed that photo and caught Mr. or Mrs. Pecker headed back to its station. The Osprey were all at the River Bend Nest being quite boring. I did catch a Red-tailed Hawk just before it headed off into the forest. This morning’s sky was really kind of unusual (pretty) and I had to take a shot of it with the fire damaged trees in the foreground (bottom).
