Another beautiful afternoon walk goes into the books today. The problem with the afternoons is that bird activity is low. I’m guessing that everyone has a full belly by the end of the day and so is hunkered down digesting on a nice safe perch. Everyone except the Great Horned Owls – who are just waking up and deciding what would hit the spot tonight. Today’s featured image is one such owl – patiently watching the Sun set behind the Arkansas River. Pictured here are a Mallard Duck couple checking out the river bottom.
