Environment:
Start Time: 8:15 AM Temperature: 35 degrees Sky: More clouds than Sun.
What looked like promising weather took a negative turn about half way through my walk this morning causing me to quit a little early. As the two scenic shots posted mid-post demonstrate things were, at one point, quite sunny and bright. It didn’t last. Bad weather started to rear its head and the Sun all but vanished. The only birds I got a shot at were a couple of Hooded Mergansers on the fishing pond but the shot was too boring to bother with. There was a bit of action to start things off, though. There were four Mule Deer bucks just South of the parking lot who were all displaying intense interest in a small doe who was remaining surprisingly calm amid all the attention. Featured up top is the Big Kahuna buck to whom the other three bucks gave ground. At post bottom is the smallest buck who basically didn’t press his luck with anybody else.
