Another chilly morning in Rock Canyon. Featured today is a male Belted Kingfisher who was working hard at finding a meal on the Arkansas River and I caught him with the goods in his beak. Then I saw, on a distant branch, what I thought was another juvenile American Bald Eagle but on closer inspection it turned out to be a Red-tailed Hawk. Still a welcome sight. With Winter just a few days away I’m hoping we get a lot more ducks stopping by for the season. Still haven’t seen a Coot – besides myself.
