The Sun had yet to clear the eastern wall of Rock Canyon when I pulled in this morning. Once again, I hurried out in hopes of catching sight of an eagle. Eventually I got a few frames of a juvenile American Bald Eagle. These shots will remain only in song and legend as no one will ever be allowed to see them. I had much more success with the smaller birds today. Pictured here is a Blue Jay with a pretty good sized seed it had collected from the ground. First it showed it off and then it flew off with it. Featured is a Northern Flicker who managed to pose in perfect light. I’m closing with a pair of American Coots who were giving me my best chance yet at getting a look at their strange feet.
