You should get some idea of the excitement level of today’s walk by my posting of a Mallard Drake as the featured image. It wasn’t totally boring, though. These two Belted Kingfishers, one male and the other not, led me on a couple of merry chases around the trees and along the river bank leaving me with the long shot results pictured here. There were a lot of Northern Flickers flickering all over the place, one capture closes out today’s post.

Birds: Mallards, Pied-billed Grebes, American Coots, Mergansers, Common Goldeneyes, Buffleheads, Gulls, Canada Geese, American Kestrel, Belted Kingfishers, Sparrows, Northern Flickers, Starlings, Great Blue Heron, American Robin, Dark-eyed Juncos
Critters: Mule Deer, Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrels
