There’s really getting to be a Spring vibe starting up in Rock Canyon. Pictured here are a couple of Northern Flickers that I suspect, based on the amount of bobbing and swaying that was going on, were engaging in some courtship rituals. I could be wrong. Featured is another Great Blue Heron flying away from me. The real excitement came when I took the closing shot of this post. The nest pictured was last year’s Red-tailed Hawk nest. Today I was surprised to find a Great Horned Owl sleeping there. I’m hoping to get a bunch of owlet photos in the near future!
