House Wren at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Back on the trail after an unexpected confrontation with an unidentified virus. I’m still not sure who has won. I did mange to complete my full walk with some successes. I was starting to think that my brain had lost the ability to spot an owl perched in the leaves but today’s featured image has allayed my fear. This Great Horned Owl was sleeping soundly just off the trail. Pictured here is House Wren who let me get surprisingly close, serenading all the while. Critters were present this morning as well. The Toad below was heading toward the river, hoping to make friends with a Heron, I’m sure. It’s good to be back.
