If I’d gotten a decent photo of the Green Heron (below) that I saw this morning it would have been the featured image for today. I’ve been trying to capture this bird for a couple of months now. I finally saw it out in the open but, sadly, quite a distance away. This one could be a juvenile because it is awfully small. So the much bigger and closer Double Crested Cormorant steals the spotlight. Come on Greenie – get with the program! Pictured here is a long shot of a Red-tailed Hawk in silhouette against the early morning sky. Another long shot. I’m closing this post with a sleeping Great Horned Owl. I nearly missed this one – I guess I partially did since you can’t see the whole owl. Half a loaf, right?
