Osprey at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Spring continues to develop in the Rock Canyon area at Lake Pueblo State Park. The Starlings are darting about taking care of nesting duties and pictured here are an Osprey couple doing the same. The Arkansas River was also busy both on the surface and high above illustrated in the mini-gallery below. I did some research on Double Crested Cormorant breeding plumage which is detailed in the caption of the image below the gallery. Today’s featured image is a pair of American Kestrels perching – probably near their nest. It is quite common these days to find Kestrels perched in pairs. They must be keeping an eye on each other.
