The weather finally settled down enough to allow me back on the trail this morning. Lot’s of fishermen on the river – all of them human. The Osprey were keeping their distance. The Black-capped Chickadee posted below is responsible for today’s featured image. If I hadn’t stopped to take its picture I would have missed the Cooper’s Hawk chowing down on I don’t know what – but it seemed to be enjoying it. Both Red-tailed Hawk parents were present and accounted for – one of them pictured here while the other sat the nest. Not a lot of bird action on the Arkansas River but I did catch a Merganser couple out for a Sunday morning cruise.
