Mellow morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. The Sun was pretty well out when I arrived but the gathering clouds had really dimmed the light by the time I had finished my patrol. Today’s featured image is a favorite subject of mine – a Barn Swallow sitting on an informational sign near the parking lot at the Anticline Fishing Pond. This bird and its mate (I like to think it is the same bird, anyway) have a cozy little nest built into the eves of a nearby informational kiosk and one or both of the adults can be seen, daily, posted up on this sign. It’s definitely Spring. Also posted today is a Yellow-rumped Warbler and a Starling leaving its nest – both photos shot yesterday.
