Gloomy clouds almost made me take the day off this morning but I decided to give it a try hoping the Sun would fight its way through the clouds. Old Sol didn’t put up much of a fight but occasionally I could see distinct shadows. Still I’m glad I made it to the Arkansas River because I got a new bird! Today’s featured image is not that great but it is a Nuttall’s Woodpecker hopping about in a Walking Stick cactus. She (don’t see any red patches) was chirping away which was the only reason I got the sighting. Almost every picture I got today was of a subject that was either small or very far away – or both. The closest I got to anybody is the Tree Squirrel posted below and it is probably the mellowest squirrel I have ever seen.
