Looks like today has a Double Crested Cormorant theme. These guys have been very active this month and have finally selected three different trees as their spots to dry out and gossip. Usually only two trees are required but there are just too many birds for everyone to fit. Featured today is what I believe to be a juvenile coming in for a landing on one of the gathering spots. Pictured here is an adult either drying out its wings or praying for a less crowded perch. There were other birds out and about, though not many. I did pick up a new bird – Sage Thrashers. I saw several but was not successful in capturing a decent image.
