Rabbitbrush at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Yet another quiet morning out on the trail. I guess 7 AM is a bit early for most folks – but I thought the birds would be up. Conditions were quite pleasant and the sky was unusually cluttered with pleasant looking clouds. The clouds were what prompted me to take today’s featured image – a kind of boring shot of a couple of Double Crested Cormorants. I noticed that the Rabbitbrush is starting to bloom which I hope will bring out some more butterflies. The Osprey were out flying around – I even saw one carrying nesting material for whatever reason. Posted at the bottom are the birds that were slow enough for me to capture.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Wood Duck, Osprey, Starlings, American Kestrel, Double Crested Cormorants, Gull, Western Kingbirds, Western Wood Pewee, Red-winged Blackbirds, Canada Geese, Northern Flickers
Critters: Grasshoppers, Rock Squirrel, Tree Squirrel, Monarch Butterfly

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
