Environment:
Start Time: 7:00 AM Temperature: 65 degrees Sky: Sunny with a persistent breeze .
Though a bit on the warmish side today’s outing was quite pleasant thanks to a welcome “chinstrap” breeze. The Osprey were putting this breeze to good use by riding the current high up into the sky and gliding around with seemingly little effort. Other than that, bird activity was very low. I spotted a Great Horned Owl, one I think I have captured before in nearly the same spot, who was snoozing in the shade well off the trail. At the bottom of the post are a couple of not-so-great shots of some Lesser Goldfinches who were very interested in the faded blooms of the Wild Sunflowers in one of the open areas. Also pictured are the Sunflowers themselves basking in the low morning light. Another Great Blue Heron has won the coveted featured image spot up top by giving me a close fly-by and just a hint of a smile.
