Fantastic walking conditions got me out for an afternoon stroll but, apparently, was not to the liking of practically all of my bird buddies. There were just a few Mallards cooling off on the Arkansas River and only one Red-tailed Hawk (pictured) who was perched on top of a juniper bush which was located on top of the North wall of Rock Canyon. Not much was going to escape its steely gaze. In order to demonstrate Autumn’s progress I am featuring a “scenic” shot of the changing leaves today contrasted with a couple of November shots below and at post bottom. Winter is coming.
